Eagles prep for daunting test

The Pleasant Home Eagles know they have a tough task at hand when they host Class 2A’s No. 2-ranked Georgiana on Friday night in Pleasant Home.

Pleasant Home as been on a roll lately has they have won their last three games.

During the three-game winning streak, the Eagles knocked off region foes Florala and Kinston.

The region wins vaulted the Eagles into a three-way tie with Florala and Kinston for the Region 2’s fourth playoff spot.

At this point, the Eagles would win the head-to-head tiebreaker for the final playoff spot.

Georgiana comes into the game with an 8-0 record, with only two of those wins coming by fewer than 32 points (St. Lukes, 38-30 and Brantley, 26-15).

Georgiana comes into the game off back-to-back 55+ point-shutouts to Red Level and McKenzie.

The Panthers have scored 371 points and given up just 85 through eight games this season.

Pleasant Home has scored 213 points and given up 232 points.

The Panthers hold a slim 4-3 lead in the series, but won last year’s contest 57-9.

Kickoff between the Eagles and the Panthers will be Friday at 7 p.m., in Pleasant Home.
