The Pleasant Home Eagles made it a close game before halftime, but Georgiana rolled to a 42-0 victory Friday night in Pleasant Home.

“We hung in there with them until just before halftime,” Pleasant Home head coach Richard Mercer said. “It was 12-0 and then we had some missed tackles that let them go up 20-0 at halftime. After that, the dam broke and they ended up having running clock in the second half.”

The No. 2-ranked Panthers had over 300 yards of offense and held Pleasant Home to under 100 yards.

“It’s frustrating playing games likes this,” Mercer said. “It sets up a big game next week against Red Level. We have to win that game to make it into the playoffs.”
