Red Level Tigers look to finish strong

The Red Level Tigers know they have tough test this week when they close out the season against Class 2A Ariton in Red Level.

“They do a really good job over there at Ariton,” Red Level head coach Kenny Skipper said. “They have athletes everywhere you look. We are putting together a game plan to try and take advantage of few things.”

Skipper said that his team has had a good week of practice.

“We have had some pretty decent practices this week,” Skipper said. “Of course we prepare for the other team, but with how young we are our biggest focus is improving the things that we do. We just want to get better every week. With the exceptions of week or two, we have do that all year.”

Finding motivation to improve when there are no playoffs on the line is something that Skipper said has been a focus this week.

“The biggest thing is finding motivation when you know you don’t have a game past Friday,” Skipper said. “For us, we are fighting the past and trying to keep them focused on this week.”

Despite the way the season has gone, Skipper said he has been pleased with how his players have reacted.

“Our time is coming,” Skipper said. “We have to prepare for that now. I’ve been pleased with the attitudes. It says a lot about you when you don’t have a ‘W’ under your belt, but you are still working your butt off to get better.”

Red Level will recognize their seniors prior to the game.
