PHS Eagles hammer Red Level

The Pleasant Home Eagles used a big first inning to knock off the Red Level Tigers 13-4 on Tuesday night in Red Level.

Pleasant Home came storming out of the gate and quickly built an 8-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Josh Ruth got things going with a single to start the opening frame.

Ruth moved to second when James Hawkins was hit by a pitch.

The Eagles grabbed the lead when Ruth scored off an error off of the bat of Avery Taylor.

Nic Woods followed with a triple that scored Hawkins and Taylor to put Pleasant Home on top 3-0.

Jake Walker then singled home Woods.

A hit batter and then a single from Mason Kelley loaded up the bases for the Eagles with still no outs in the inning.

The Tigers then issued back-to-back walks to Judd Fuqua and Nathan Greathouse.

Ruth then grounded into a fielder’s choice, but Kelley scored to put the Eagles up 7-0.

Hawkins followed with a sacrifice fly to put the Eagles up 8-0.

In the top of the third inning, the Eagles got a one-out single from Fuqua and then a double from Ruth.

Hawkins and Taylor followed with singles to put the Eagles on top 10-0.

Woods followed with a single to give Pleasant Home an 11-0 advantage.

In the bottom of the third inning, Zavier Phillips singled with one out and then advanced to second when Parker Spears drew a walk.

Cale Mancill followed with a single to load the bases for the Tigers.

Chance Russell then cleared the ducks off the pond with a triple.

The Tigers then got a single from Ethan Edson, but trailed 11-4 going into the fourth inning.

Pleasant Home tacked on runs in the fourth and fifth inning to pick up the 13-4 victory.
