Red Level is looking for a win Friday night in its last game of the season against Prattville Christian Academy at Bobby Dye Stadium.

The Tigers are riding a 25-game losing streak going into the contest with the Panthers, who sit at 2-7 on the year.

RLS suffered a tough 55-0 loss to Brantley last week, and Tigers head football coach David Godwin said a lot of younger players got to play in the game.

“They played hard,” Godwin said. “I was proud of the effort the young kids showed.

“We just want to continue to get our young kids a chance to play and see what they’ll do,” he said. “Brantley is a lot better football team than they were when the year started. We want to learn from that one and put it away, and take this week 10 as an opportunity to get the ball rolling for next year with a little momentum.”

The only player on the Panthers team who has caused Godwin some concern is senior tight end, John Watts.

PCA likes to run the Wing-T offense and spreads the ball out to as many players as it can, Godwin said.

Godwin said the team is strictly focused on what it can control in the future in regards to the large losing streak the Tigers have amassed.

“We worry a lot less about the past and a little bit more about the current things we can control,” he said. “We want to make sure we can get better. Through us getting better, we want to give ourselves a chance to win, regardless of who we play.”

In the end, Red Level is still looking for a win and it has a good chance this week as the Tigers celebrate senior night.

Kick off is at 7 p.m. on Friday.
