KINSTON — The Kinston Lady Bulldogs claimed a 5-0 victory over Pleasant Home to win the Class 1A, Area 3 crown today.

Play resumed at 10 a.m. after the championship game was postponed Friday night due to rain.

Before the final game of the day, Pleasant Home bounced back and forced another game on Kinston with a 2-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs in extra innings.

Both teams will make an appearance at the Class 1A South Regional tournament in Gulf Shores next weekend.

Kinston will start its play with Area 4 runner-up Brantley, and Pleasant Home will start the regional tournament against Area 4 winner Ariton.
