Red Level boys coach Allen Catrett said Wednesday on the eve of his team’s area contest against Zion Chapel that the best thing for his team to do is to “win out.”

“If we win out, the worst case scenario is that it comes down to a coin toss,” Catrett said about the seeding before the area tournament next month.

Currently, Red Level sits at 12-9 overall, and 2-2 in Class 2A, Area 2. Elba and Samson are competing for the No. 1 seed right now. Elba is in the lead with a 4-1 record in the area, and Samson sits at 3-1 in the area. New Brockton is one win better than Red Level right now in area play at 3-2, and Zion Chapel is last at 0-4.

A win tonight for RLS, would put the Tigers level with New Brockton in the area. The Tigers beat New Brockton 75-71 last Thursday night in over time.

“We need to play good defense and cut down the turnovers, and finish shots and control the boards,” Catrett said about tonight’s game.

Tip off in Red Level is at approximately 7:30 p.m.
