Red Level hitters blasted five home runs over the fence, and beat Zion Chapel 15-9 in the first game of a doubleheader in area action Thursday night in Jack, Ala.

However, the Tigers fell 11-1 in the second game.

“We came out, and hit the ball,” RLS head baseball coach Tony Ingram said about the first game. “Troy (Nolen) pitched three great innings.

“We brought (Jordan) Walker in the game, and they came bak to within one run of us,” he said. “Typical of us, we’ll drop our heads and quit fighting. They picked their heads up, and went back to hitting. I was proud of their effort.”

The Tigers were led by Troy Grissette, who hit two home runs. Nolen, Walker and Nick Nolen hit one home run each.

Red Level improved to 3-2 in Class 2A, Area 2.
