Red Level’s new varsity volleyball coaches Sabrina Tolbert and Lisa Edson said they know this year will be a “learning experience.”

And, with six players returning from last year’s team, Tolbert said the Lady Tigers should have a good season in 2011.

“We have a lot of veteran volleyall players on the team,” Tolbert said. “There is a lot of talent on this team.”

The Lady Tigers will compete in Class 2A, Area 6 with Goshen and Highland Home. Last year, Red Level ended its season in the area tournament.

Tolbert said a goal for the team is to make it to the regional tournament this year.

Red Level has five seniors on the team in Adrianna Stewart, Bianca Bullock, Dionah Smith, Brittany Scott and Kianna Lawrence.

The other seniors that are not returning starters are Courtney Salter and Ivy Tanner.

Since Red Level has a loaded team with veteran players, Tolbert said making the playoffs isn’t out of the question.

Additionally, the Lady Tigers have four junior high girls on the team as well.

Red Level will hold its first match against Straughn next Tues., Aug. 23, at 4:30 p.m.
