Pleasant Home senior Gabe Gunter pitched two innings and struck out three while allowing two hits, no runs and no walks in spite of the New York Mets High School prep scout team’s 2-1 loss to North Florida State Community College on Sunday.

The Mets led 1-0 going into the sixth inning, where NFSCC tied the game up. The winning run came in the ninth inning off of a Mets error.

Gunter will play with the Los Angeles Dodgers prep scout team next in Lakeland, Fla., which will conclude his baseball playing for 2011.
