PHS girls beat Neal

Pleasant Home’s Lady Eagles swept W.S. Neal in varsity and junior varsity volleyball action Monday night.

PHS’ varsity squad beat W.S. Neal 25-10, 25-15, 25-1; and the junior varsity squad won 25-12, 25-22.

Pleasant Home’s junior high team lost in three games 18-25, 25-21, 16-18.

PHS volleyball coach Jerry Davis said the teams “held it together” well on the court.

“We played straight through each game,” Davis said. “We hit the ball very well.”

Pleasant Home will travel to play in Opp tonight, and will end the week in East Brewton when it will face T.R. Miller.

The match in Opp begins at 4 p.m., and the match at T.R. Miller begins at 3:30 p.m.

All three teams will play in each match.

Davis said the varsity squad usually goes five games with W.S. Neal, and added that the 3-0 victory was the first in the school’s young program.

In action tonight, Andalusia will play host to Northview, Straughn travels to play Zion Chapel and Florala travels to play New Brockton.
